Index Article "HHC"
Before continuing with the article I would like to emphasize that THC is the only illegal cannabinoid in Spain. Today, only those products derived from hemp that contain less than 0.2% THC are allowed. This percentage varies depending on the country, so we recommend that you check it before placing any order.

What is HHC?

HHC or Hexahydrocannabinol is another cannabinoid from the cannabis plant.

A cannabis plant has more than 500 organic elements, of which, currently, 113 are considered cannabinoids. HHC is considered a minor cannabinoid as it is found in very low concentrations.

Although this cannabinoid is beginning to be known, it was Roger Adams, who obtained it by adding hydrogen molecules to delta 9-THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) in 1944.

How is the HHC obtained?

HHC is extracted in the same way as its other cannabinoid brothers, through the hydrogenation created by Adams, but what does this consist of?

The process consists of:

1. Hydrogenation

The process involves mixing cannabinoid-rich cannabis extract with hydrogen gas in a pressurized container. In this process, hydrogen breaks the carbon bonds in cannabinoids. From there comes a concentrated dark golden oil that is known as Hydrogenated Cannabis.

2. Speed up the process

To make this process last less time, manufacturers use catalysts. These allow the chemical reaction between cannabinoids and hydrogen gas to be much more effective. Many of the catalysts usually include lithium, iridium or palladium.

Effects produced by HHC

Because it is a component that is barely being known, there is no relevant data. Like other cannabinoids, it acts on the CB1 and CB2 receptors and it can be assumed that its effects are similar to those of THC. Some of these effects would be:

1. Euphoria

2. Mood alteration.

3. Hunger.

4. Increased sensory pleasure.

5. Fatigue.

6. Psychotropic effect.

7. Change in perception of reality.

Its potency and effects are not exactly known, but everything seems to indicate that HHC is more powerful than THC.

Differences HHC and THC

HHC can be obtained as a natural or semi-synthetic cannabinoid depending on the technique used during its extraction.

It is safe? What dose should I take?

Because it is a component that is just beginning to be studied, the necessary research has not yet been done. Therefore, to date the exact dosage is not known and its possible adverse effects are unknown.

Although there is not much knowledge about this cannabinoid, acquiring and selling this type of product is completely legal, as it is a derivative of the hemp plant and has less than 0.2% THC.

HHC Legality

According to the Royal Decree 1729/1999 on the cultivation of registered varieties of industrial hemp, all hemp products that do not exceed 0.2% THC are permitted.

Does HHC appear in Drug Tests?

So far there has been no concrete evidence that HHC does not appear in an analysis. Therefore, it is better to be cautious.

HHC Precautions

As it is a component that requires very little study, it is advisable to take into account:

1. Its use must be for those over 18 years of age.

2. Keep out of reach of children.

3. It is advisable to consult your doctor if you are undergoing any medical treatment or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

4. It should not be used if you are going to use any type of machinery or work considered high risk.

5. Store in a dry and cool place up to 25º.

6. If poisoning occurs due to consumption, food and drink will help the effects pass very quickly.
